About us

Institute of Practical Psychology

For over 30 years the IPP has combined scientific research with hands-on practice — founded by Univ. Prof. Dr. Michael Dieterich, in exchange with Lee University (Cleveland, TN, USA), today with a focus on the PST‑R and ABPS® counselling.

How we see ourselves

People at the centre

Every person is unique — and needs tailored support. We work in a resource- and development-oriented way.

Science & practice

Developmental diagnostics based on empirical findings from the social and behavioural sciences.

A holistic perspective

The ABPS® model combines general counselling, psychotherapy and pastoral care — soma, psyche and pneuma in one integrative approach.

Partners

In exchange with science and practice

The IPP works in exchange with recognised institutions from teaching, research and practice. This keeps the ongoing development of the PST‑R and ABPS® counselling on a sound footing.

Fields of activity

Today with a focus on the PST‑R

Over the years the institute has focused its work on the PST‑R, ABPS® counselling and the training of new licensees.

PST‑R diagnostics

Personality structure test, evaluation and reports — today the institute's central focus of activity.

Licensing & supervision

Training new licensees, annual updates, supervision and test-theory seminars.

Research & publication

Ongoing development of the PST‑R, standardisation in DE / CH / AT, scientific publications.

Counselling & pastoral care

Personal counselling, couples and family therapy, pastoral support in connection with the PST‑R.

Research

Publications

Books, tests and specialist articles from more than three decades of research at the IPP.
